Long Lunch in Mildura
With 170 patrons at a sold out Long Lunch, the RC Mildura Deakin was ecstatic at its success. ‘This was the
largest crowd ever’, coordinator Tim Aldridge said, ‘and every member of the club helped with the event’.
It is expected the club will raise between $8000 and $9000.
It was able to hold its annual fundraiser again after a one year COVID-19 break and because of the long
lockdowns in Victoria the locals were pleased to get out and celebrate on a perfect Autumn day under the
vines in Langtree Ave.
The two guest speakers were recently returned Youth Exchange students – one of whom talked of her
exchange continuing under COVID. Tim added it was a great promotion of Youth Exchange. The Mildura
Deakin Club has always been a strong supporter of Rotary Youth programs.
