Step Up to Clean Up
The annual March Clean Up Australia day was a service project for many clubs in the district. This year
the RC Irymple was assigned to Walnut Ave Mildura – a long road stretching from the centre of the city
to the airport. Rotarian Peter Rhodes led a large
group of members who quickly gathered trailer loads
of rubbish.
The Adelaide University Rotaract Club also took part and its members cleaned up a section of Torrens
Lake in the centre of the city and adjacent to the university.
WOMADelaide and Shelterbox
With the help of Adelaide City Rotaract and RC Adelaide Light
Shelterbox was highlighted to many thousands of people who
attended the 4 day festival of Music and Dance from cultures
around the world. The clubs erected a Shelterbox tent and
displayed all the items that go with it for the festival goers
to see and donate to this world-wide disaster alleviating project.
The club has also set up a water bottle drive for primary schools
because under the COVID-19 protocols school water fountains
in SA schools has been turned off. Disadvantaged children in some
schools are unable to afford
water bottles.
The RC Regency Park has
joined them and donated
50 water bottles to Blair
Athol North Primary school.
