Water and sanitation for the Solomons
The RC Unley has sponsored a water and sanitation and health care project in the Solomon Islands. The
major aims of this Rotary Foundation Grant will be the construction of toilets, installation of septic tanks
and the collection of fresh water by building a structure with an iron roof, gutters and the installation of rain
water tanks. All this is happening on the island of Malaita in the Dalousu village.
The little school at Dalousu has not been forgotten. Lacking educational books, stationery and library books
students, teachers and parents of Unley Primary school recently raised over $3,000 to pay the schools fees
of 30 children to attend school.
