Volunteers’ night hands out $20,000
Last November more than 20 local organizations shared in the handing out of $19,495. Monies primarily
raised by the wonderful ladies volunteering at the Rotary Community Op Shop, and by the RC Wentworth.
A special night was put on for the volunteers, and recipient group representatives were invited along for a
meal and presentations. Around 50 people were In attendance including local Rotary Club members.
President Joe Kervin along with Georgina Mudge the new manager of the Op Shop handed out most of the
Donations to the various groups including:
Murray House, Wentworth Bowling Club, Pioneer Homes Dareton Community, Creative Meals on Wheels,
Wentworth Christmas Eve Wentworth Skate Park, Local Senior Citizens Group Coomealla, High School and
all Public schools in our area.
On the night there was plenty of elbow bumping, applause, raffles and laughter. The local Rotary Club
normally have two of these events per year and although this year has been much different than previous
years re fundraising events, the local club still managed to give away over $40,000 directly and an additional
$36,000 combined.
