March 2022 DG Newsletter
Dear fellow Rotarians, partners and friends of Rotary,
We have had a quiet start to the year with all meetings taking place over zoom. I would
like to express my extreme gratitude to you all for your cooperation and patience as we
                                      navigate this new world.
Jenny & I are still continuing with our DG visits, albeit in this new format. Once the risks associated with
COVID have reduced, we will arrange to meet up with the clubs we have missed in a more casual setting.
We are currently starting to discuss with clubs returning to face-to-face visits where these can be done
safely and the members are comfortable with this.

Many of you would have had the opportunity to watch the Australia Day Rotary webinar. This was an
excellent program highlighting the many projects that Rotary is doing throughout our zone. There were
some very engaging speakers and once again we had the opportunity to learn more about what Rotary
        is doing.

I am sad to advise that Fiona Biedermann has, for personal reasons, stepped down from her role as Chair
of the District Membership and Public Image Committee.

Fiona has had a profound impact on Rotary at district level as District 9520 Membership Chair, the first
District 9510 Membership Chair and more recently in her current role as District Membership and Public
Image chair. Fiona will be very much missed, and we thank her for her enormous contribution.

For the remainder of this Rotary year, Dannielle Camporeale – RC Port Pirie, has kindly agreed to chair
the District Membership committee and Julie Johnson – RC Adelaide, has kindly agreed to chair the
        District Public Image committee.

I would like to take the opportunity in this month’s edition to highlight the important work being done by
the Public Image committee, now under the leadership of Julie Johnson as mentioned above. They are a
small committee but are continually searching out ways to promote Rotary and support clubs with their
Public Image. Our Public Image team will have a stand at the Conference and will have a brief session
where they can share with us their plans to support Rotary branding in our District.
The team is prepared to come to your club to speak with you and
assist you with any questions you have about Public Image.

I challenge all clubs to continue to keep Public Image as a high
priority on their agenda. The work that Rotary does in our
community and around the world has a significant impact.
It is imperative that we take all steps necessary to ensure that our
promotion and branding highlights the work that we do.

                                                                          continued over....
