We also appreciated the opportunity of attending the Premiers Award Luncheon, where the work of all
Service Clubs Association of South Australia was showcased. These awards clearly identified what I have
previously mentioned about the amount of
work being contributed by our members.
An Area 7 meeting at West Beach was the
bookend of our month and another great way
to learn more about the clubs of our district and the members who are contributing their varying skills.
It was here that that I came to realise that we can Imagine Rotary – paralleling old with new. The Rotary
Club of Kidman Park, probably have the oldest Rotarian,
certainly in our district at 106 years of age.
The members speak fondling of this members
contribution to their club and their community.
But at the same time they have relaxed their
meeting format to remain relevant and
appealing to their members today.
This past month as I have considered the many varying ways we meet as clubs, came to the conclusion,
that despite differences - there are only a few degrees of separation. There is an enduring common bond -
to Imagine Rotary as we serve.
We remain Proud of our past – Confident of the future!
