Letter from Jane
Dear Rotarians
My last night as District Governor was spent in
exceptionally good Rotary company. I attended the
Changeover for the Rotary Club of Mawson Lakes.
The meeting was well attended with Club members,
Assistant and Area Governors, Official guests, Rotary
Presidents, and Probus Ambassadors.
There were tears and there was laughter! We celebrated
the past year and we welcomed the incoming year of
‘Rotary Opens Opportunities’.
As it would be in most clubs, we had the usual toasts to
Rotary International, we had some history; Vineeta told
us about her plans for the incoming year and Patrick
sang a couple of timely and fitting songs. We also had
one induction, one confirmation of a ZOOM induction
and were introduced to a possible member. There were
three Paul Harris recipients, gifts were given and
received and of course there was the obligatory raffle.
I hope your Changeovers are as much fun as it was last
night and you all have great plans for the coming year.
As I said last night “I am proud to be the last District
Governor for District 9500 and I am proud of what we
have achieved through what have been some challenging
times. I have been privileged to be associated with the
wonderful work our clubs have accomplished”.
I am sure there are Opportunities for us out there—we
just need to see them.
Take care and stay safe.
Jane
